Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, maintaining safety standards, and managing staff effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a passion for culinary excellence, and a comprehensive understanding of food service management. Responsibilities Manage and lead the kitchen team to ensure efficient and cohesive operations. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards. Implement and monitor food safety and sanitizing procedures in compliance with health regulations. Control food costs through inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction strategies. Manage daily shift operations, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow coordination. Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing waste. Ensure excellent food service management by maintaining high standards of presentation and customer satisfaction. Maintain a safe working environment for all staff members through adherence to safety protocols. Skills Proven experience managing a professional kitchen as a chef or kitchen supervisor. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff. Expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development. Knowledge of cost control methods and inventory management best practices. Familiarity with food safety standards; Serv-Safe Certification in food service management is preferred, must obtain within 30 days of hiring. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Effective communication skills to coordinate with staff and other departments.
