$16-$20 per hour, based on experience Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available Sea Story Sushi is a high-volume, full-service premium all-you-can-eat Asian restaurant featuring sushi, hibachi, ramen, tempura, yakitori, and more. We are currently looking for an experienced Kitchen Hibachi Chef / Line Cook to join our back-of-house team. This is NOT a tableside hibachi position. All hibachi items are prepared on the kitchen line. Responsibilities Prepare hibachi proteins, vegetables, fried rice, noodles, and other menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards Work efficiently on a high-volume kitchen line Maintain consistency in portioning, seasoning, cooking temperatures, and presentation Properly prepare and handle chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables, rice, noodles, and sauces Complete station setup, prep, restocking, and breakdown Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift Communicate and work closely with other cooks, chefs, expo, and management Follow proper food safety, sanitation, storage, and labeling procedures Assist other kitchen stations when needed Maintain speed and accuracy during busy dinner and weekend services Requirements Previous professional kitchen experience is required Previous experience preparing Asian cuisine is required Hibachi, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, sushi restaurant, wok, or similar Asian kitchen experience is strongly preferred Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant Strong knife skills and basic protein preparation skills Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency Must understand proper food handling and sanitation practices Ability to stand for extended periods and work around hot cooking equipment Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Must be available for evenings and weekends as required Compensation $16-$20 per hour, based on experience and skill level. Higher starting rates within the range are available for candidates with strong hibachi, wok, Japanese, or other relevant Asian cuisine experience.
