Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi with precision, artistry, and consistency, adhering to traditional Japanese methods. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all food preparation areas. Develop new sushi recipes and presentation styles to enhance menu offerings and delight guests. Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of fish, rice, vegetables, and other supplies. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy hours. Educate team members on sushi techniques, ingredients, and presentation standards to promote skill development. Uphold a positive team environment by fostering teamwork, communication, and a passion for culinary excellence. Skills Extensive experience working as a Sushi Chef or in similar culinary roles specializing in Japanese cuisine. Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques including rice seasoning, fish slicing (sashimi), and roll assembly. Ability to develop creative sushi recipes and adapt to current food trends while maintaining authenticity. Excellent knife skills for precise fish filleting and vegetable cutting. Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices specific to seafood handling. Experience managing ingredient inventory and maintaining freshness in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong attention to detail, artistic flair, and commitment to quality presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
