In this role, you will craft authentic and innovative sushi dishes, ensuring each plate meets our high standards for quality, presentation, and flavor. Your expertise will contribute to creating a memorable dining experience for our guests while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced settings and have a love for Japanese cuisine and culinary artistry. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency according to established recipes and presentation standards Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation in accordance with health regulations Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and order supplies as needed to ensure seamless kitchen operations Collaborate with team members to coordinate service flow during busy hours and support overall kitchen efficiency Develop new sushi recipes and menu items that reflect current culinary trends while respecting traditional techniques Educate junior staff on sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and presentation methods Uphold the restaurant's reputation by delivering exceptional quality and customer satisfaction with every dish Experience Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant or sushi bar Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including fish handling, rice seasoning, rolling, slicing, and garnishing Experience working with a variety of seafood ingredients and understanding of food safety protocols specific to raw fish handling Demonstrated ability to develop creative sushi recipes and adapt to evolving culinary trends Familiarity with kitchen management practices such as inventory control, waste reduction, and workflow organization Prior experience teaching or mentoring junior kitchen staff is preferred Background in culinary arts with specialization or certification in Japanese cuisine or related fields is highly desirable
