Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi and Japanese dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency. Your expertise will elevate the dining experience by crafting beautiful, high-quality sushi that delights our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry in a fast-paced, high-volume environment dedicated to excellence in food presentation and safety. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese delicacies following established recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene regulations Operate kitchen equipment such as sushi rollers, knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units efficiently and safely Plan and execute menu items with attention to ingredient quality, portion control, and visual appeal Maintain cleanliness of workstations and ensure proper food handling practices throughout all stages of food production Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and communicating supply needs Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fine dining or high-volume setting Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry, preferably with fine dining or restaurant experience Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and meal preparation Knowledge of food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume production environments Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Dietary aide experience or dietary department experience is a plus for understanding special dietary needs Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting Passion for culinary arts with a focus on authentic Japanese cuisine and attention to detail Join us if you're eager to craft exquisite sushi dishes while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Pay:
