POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

We are an independent, family-owned Italian restaurant and jazz lounge in Cedar Park. We aim to provide the best service, food, and entertainment in Austin. We re looking for people who care about service and want to grow professionally. The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing the day-to-day culinary operations. They supervise the training and development of the kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality of food service.

ESSENTIAL

RESPONSIBILITIESRun the kitchen and supervise the staff in the absence of the executive chefMaintain a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen Oversee recipe standardizationEnsure plate presentation is correct and consistentMaintain inventory levels and assist Executive Chef with managing food and labor costs

EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCECulinary school graduate preferredTwo years experience in supervisory positionUnderstanding of a la carte and banquet revenue generationGeneral knowledge of expense control as it relates to kitchen payroll and the forecasting/budgeting of expensesTechnical literacy, including point of sale systemsInterpersonal skills, sales/negotiating abilities, attention to detail, planning and organizational ability
