Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Create innovative sushi rolls and presentation styles that enhance the guest experience while maintaining authenticity. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy hours. Monitor ingredient freshness and manage inventory levels efficiently to minimize waste. Educate team members on sushi techniques, presentation, and ingredient usage to promote continuous learning. Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols at all times. Experience Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine. Demonstrated expertise in sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills, rice cooking, fish filleting, and rolling methods. Experience developing new recipes or menu items that highlight creativity within traditional sushi styles. Knowledge of food safety standards related to raw seafood handling and storage practices. Familiarity with culinary tools such as sushi knives, rice cookers, and presentation platters. Prior experience working in high-volume restaurants or hospitality environments preferred.
