Opened in May 2025, our luxurious private members club is offering an unparalleled dining experience blending elegance and energy in an "urban country club" setting. With a focus on both Culinary & Service Michelin-star-level experiences, we strive to create unforgettable moments that cater to the most discerning clientele. Adjacent to our club is a Café, Market & Bakery opened to the public with our daily offer of freshly baked goods opened in May 2026. We are seeking passionate hospitality professionals who take pride in craftsmanship, consistency and teamwork while contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced kitchen environment.
Position Overview:
The Pastry Cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, and presentation of pastries, breads, viennoiserie, desserts, and other baked goods for both Cypress Club and Little Heron. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, and the ability to execute recipes and techniques consistently in a high-level culinary environment. The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, eager to learn and passionate about pastry, baking, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare pastries, breads, viennoiserie, cakes, cookies, plated desserts and other baked goods according to recipes and standards established by the Executive Pastry Chef and Executive Chef.
  • Assist with daily mise en place, production, portioning and station setup for service.
  • Properly scale, mix, proof, bake, garnish, and finish products while maintaining consistency and presentation standards.
  • Follow recipes precisely while maintaining quality, timing, and organization throughout production.
  • Label, date, rotate and properly store all food products in accordance with health department and food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all pastry stations, refrigerators, storage areas, and equipment throughout the shift.
  • Assist with morning and overnight production as needed, including bread, laminated doughs, and specialty pastry items.
  • Monitor product freshness and quality, communicating any concerns to the Pastry Chef or leadership team.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastry, hot kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth daily operations and service execution.
  • Assist with inventory organization, stocking and receiving deliveries when required.
  • Operate pastry and kitchen equipment safely and properly, including mixers, sheeters, ovens, proofers, and scales.
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and workplace policies and procedures.
  • Support the team with additional tasks and projects as directed by the Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
  • Maintain a positive, professional and team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, café, or fine dining environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and food safety standards.
  • Passion for pastry, bread baking, and hospitality.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic culinary setting.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
