This position plays an important role in ensuring our guests receive fresh, consistent, and great-tasting food throughout the day. Key Responsibilities Prepare soups, pasta, sauces, and other assigned menu items according to established recipes and portion standards. Follow daily prep lists and production schedules to ensure adequate product is available during meal periods. Cook pasta to proper specifications and prepare soups and sauces to the correct consistency, temperature, and quality. Monitor product levels throughout the shift and prepare additional batches as needed. Taste and inspect food for quality, freshness, temperature, and presentation. Properly label, date, rotate, store, and handle all food products using FIFO procedures. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control requirements. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including equipment, counters, utensils, floors, and storage areas. Prevent food waste by following recipes, batch sizes, portioning standards, and proper storage procedures. Communicate with managers and other team members regarding product needs, shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns. Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen cleaning responsibilities as assigned. Follow all company policies, recipes, procedures, and safety standards. Work cooperatively with other kitchen and service team members to provide a positive guest experience. Qualifications Previous restaurant or kitchen experience required. Ability to follow recipes and written preparation instructions. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency. Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. Ability to communicate effectively with managers and coworkers. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks. Ability to work around hot cooking equipment, steam, refrigeration, and other typical restaurant kitchen conditions.
