Kitchen Manager/chef Liberty Addiction Recovery Centers - 3.8 American Fork, UT Job Details Full-time $20 - $24 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Food Safety Certification ServSafe Attention to detail Organizational skills Food preparation Kitchen management Food Handler Certification Time management Full Job Description Job Description The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily kitchen operations within a residential treatment facility, ensuring nutritious, high-quality meals are prepared and served in a safe, clean, and efficient environment. This position is responsible for meal planning, inventory management, food ordering, kitchen sanitation, staff scheduling, and supervision while maintaining compliance with all health department regulations and company policies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and oversee meal service for approximately 30-50 clients and staff daily. Develop, implement, and maintain a four-week rotating menu that provides balanced, nutritious meals. Prepare and modify meals to accommodate food allergies, physician-ordered diets, religious preferences, diabetic diets, gluten-free diets, vegetarian options, and other dietary or medical needs. Order food, beverages, paper products, cleaning supplies, and kitchen inventory while maintaining budget expectations. Maintain accurate inventory and minimize food waste through proper planning and stock rotation (FIFO). Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, OSHA, Utah Health Department, and company standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary commercial kitchen at all times. Supervise, train, coach, and support kitchen staff while promoting teamwork and accountability. Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing for a 12-hour, 7-day-per-week operation. Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and meal service. Inspect deliveries and ensure food quality standards are met. Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary. Complete required logs, temperature records, cleaning schedules, inventory counts, and other documentation accurately and timely. Collaborate with Nursing, Clinical, Operations, and Residential staff regarding client dietary needs and meal planning. Respond calmly and effectively to changing priorities, staffing shortages, and unexpected situations while maintaining quality service. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain client confidentiality. Maintain professional boundaries and contribute to a positive, respectful work environment. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of Liberty Addiction Recovery Centers. Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Experience preparing meals for 30-50 people or more in a commercial, healthcare, school, assisted living, correctional, or institutional kitchen. Experience creating and following rotating menus. Experience ordering food and managing kitchen inventory. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Ability to effectively manage staffing and scheduling. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities. Strong critical-thinking and real-time problem-solving abilities. Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of professionalism, accountability, and dependability. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently while leading a team. Compassion and respect when working in a behavioral health and recovery environment. Knowledge of commercial kitchen sanitation and food safety standards. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds , stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Must possess or be able to obtain a Utah Food Handler Permit . ServSafe Manager Certification is preferred. Must successfully pass all required pre-employment screenings, including a background check and any applicable state clearances.
