Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry. Ensure all food handling practices meet safety standards and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen. Assist in menu planning by creating innovative sushi options that align with customer preferences and seasonal ingredients. Maintain proper knife skills to cut fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently while preserving quality. Manage food preparation tasks including ingredient portioning, storage, and inventory control to minimize waste. Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver exceptional food service in a timely manner during busy hours. Uphold food safety regulations at all times, ensuring compliance with health codes and sanitation procedures. Experience Previous experience working in a restaurant or fine dining setting specializing in Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation. Strong background in food industry standards including food handling, safety protocols, and kitchen operations. Proven culinary experience with an emphasis on meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation. Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special requests. Skilled in menu planning, catering, and serving within fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency with knife skills, food safety certifications, and general kitchen experience. Experience working in the food service or catering industry that highlights your ability to deliver excellent customer experiences.
