This is a hands-on role in an upscale, fast-paced omakase environment, directly contributing to the guest experience through precision, consistency, and strong collaboration. Essential Responsibilities Prepare all types of sushi, including nigiri, sashimi, and hand rolls, in accordance with company standards Manage inventory levels for raw fish and related ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality Maintain strict attention to detail to ensure consistency, presentation, and food safety Comply with all nutrition, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements Maintain a valid Food Handler Certification Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sushi workstation always Respond to special guest requests with professionalism and accuracy Foster a respectful, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment Uphold Sushi by Bou's and SIO Hotels service standards, professionalism, and brand expectations Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sushi chef in a fine dining or high-volume environment Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to delegate tasks and monitor workflow effectively Excellent verbal communication skills and a team-focused mindset Personable, professional demeanor with a strong guest-service orientation Working knowledge of both traditional sushi techniques and modern culinary trends Physical Requirements Must be able to work evenings and weekends Ability to stand for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds Ability to work in a refrigerated and kitchen environment with exposure to raw fish, sharp tools, and hot surfaces Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation Compensation Competitive hourly pay plus pooled tips, commensurate with experience Benefits Supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding company Paid Vacation and Sick Time We are an equal opportunity employer and make employment decisions without regard to age, race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information or other protected class.
