Job Description

Bridgewater Retirement Community's Dining is currently seeking a Chef/Cook to join our team! Everyday our work is resident focused, and our goal is to build relationships that lead to the best quality of life possible for our residents and our team members. Schedule:
Full Time - 10:30a-6:30pm, with every other weekend rotatio n Essential Functions Prepare two to three meals daily per menu for a seated formal dining venue as well as prepare catering orders Prepare grilled and short-order menu items such as burgers, sandwiches, breakfast items, and specials to order Operate and maintain equipment specific to the grille station, including flat top griddle, fryer, salamander, and char broiler Pull ingredients from storage areas and rotate food stock, check product quality, and assist with inventory as needed Communicate with servers or front-line team members to ensure food is delivered quickly and correctly Clean and sanitize kitchen areas according to Health Department standards Report to work as scheduled and complete required in-service training Adhere to uniform and appearance guidelines Support other Cooks in coordination with quality control and sanitation standards Monitor food temperatures and cooking times to ensure food safety and quality standards are met Manage prep work, leftover usage, and kitchen inventory needs Other duties as assigned 1-3 years of experience in food preparation and cooking in a commercial or institutional kitchen High school diploma or GED is required Must be able to prepare food efficiently and accurately Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines Able to read and interpret menus, diet orders, and production sheets Effective communication skills to work with staff and residents Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling practices Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of made-to-order and à la carte meal service. Ability to follow ticket systems or verbal orders during busy service periods. An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
