Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes following established recipes and presentation standards Operate kitchen equipment such as sushi knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures meet strict food safety regulations to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination Assist with menu planning by suggesting new sushi options and seasonal specials based on customer preferences and ingredient availability Maintain inventory levels of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other ingredients necessary for daily operations Support high-volume production by preparing ingredients in advance and managing multiple orders simultaneously Collaborate with the culinary team to uphold quality standards, adhere to recipe specifications, and deliver exceptional meal presentation Skills Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine Strong knife skills with the ability to precisely cut fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques Experience operating kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, slicers, grills, and other culinary tools Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume production processes Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness Excellent food service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings Join us to bring your culinary talents to life in an energetic environment where your skills will be valued.
