Responsibilities Prepare fresh sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese delicacies with precision and artistry, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and ensuring availability of fresh supplies for daily service Operate kitchen equipment such as sushi rollers, knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations following food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a hygienic environment Support food production by managing high-volume sushi rolls, nigiri, and other items during peak hours while maintaining quality standards Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques, including poaching, braising, grilling, and food safety management protocols Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and excellent food service delivery in a fast-paced setting Skills Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or high-volume kitchen environment, preferably with fine dining or sushi experience Strong knife skills with the ability to handle delicate fish and produce precise cuts for sushi presentation Knowledge of dietary department procedures and experience with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures, food handling regulations, and overall food safety management practices Experience in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation tailored to customer preferences Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently while maintaining safety standards Excellent food industry knowledge including catering experience, cooking techniques such as braising and grilling, and high-volume production skills Join us if you're eager to craft beautiful sushi dishes in a lively environment where your culinary talents can shine!
