Job Description
Cat Depot is a free-roaming cat rescue, medical center, and nonprofit adoption center dedicated to saving lives and helping cats find loving homes. We are looking for a compassionate, people-focused cat lover with strong guest services experience to join our adoptions team in a unique, meaningful role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and getting to know the cats they will matchmake families with. The right candidate will have strong customer service skills , the ability to build trust with visitors and adopters , solid judgment when reading people and situations , and comfort using computers and software systems. Experience with cat behavior, basic feline medical needs, or shelter operations is highly valued. Fear Free Certified, veterinary background, animal welfare experience, and English-Spanish bilingual are all a plus. When joining the Adoptions & Guest Services team, you will help guide visitors through the adoption process, answer phones, greet guests, provide tours, and help match cats with families based on personality, lifestyle, and needs. You will educate adopters on cat behavior, medical considerations, introductions at home, and long-term success after adoption. Follow-up support and adopter counseling are also an important part of this role. You will also work closely with our Shelter Medical and Cat Care teams to understand the individual needs of the cats in our care. This includes helping maintain clean, enriching habitats and ensuring each cat has the best chance of making a solid connection with the right adopter. A successful team member in this role is curious, observant, patient, and eager to keep learning. Understanding cats is an ongoing process that takes patience and time, and we are looking for someone who is motivated to continue building their knowledge and confidently share that information with the public. Cat Depot is a smoke-free and drug-free workplace. Our facility is open nearly every day of the year, so weekend availability and scheduling flexibility are required.
