GENERAL PURPOSE
Be part of an energetic team devoted to delivering a unique, vibrant and purposeful experience for our residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in the planning, implementation, and promotion of activities to enhance the quality of life for all residents. Facilitate community involvement through volunteerism. Safely transport residents in community bus or another vehicle according to schedule. Facilitate engagement programs that promote a vibrant lifestyle; model appropriate and successful engagement of residents. Participate in the development of monthly engagement calendars and daily engagement schedules with Memory Care Director or Engagement Director. Create engagement for residents based on their preferences, experiences, and lifelong interests as reported in the resident life journal. Effectively leverage technology to enhance engagement for residents; use technology as a tool for team members to effectively engage residents. Participate in planning special events, parties, and larger events for the entire community, in conjunction with other team members. Participate in the completion of resident life journals. Invite and encourage residents to participate in engagement and when necessary, assist with escorting residents to engagement. Organize and assist in maintaining appropriate supplies for resident engagement. Coordinate outings, special events, and partnerships with the greater community to enhance overall engagement experience for residents. Communicate to appropriate team members any observations of any resident changes or concerns. Develop strong relationships with family members of residents. Exemplify company values during interactions with families, residents, and team members. Clearly communicate with team members. Effectively collaborate with team members to improve resident and family experience. Follow community fire safety and infection control practices. Understand roll in the safety and disaster plan. Promptly report any unsafe conditions or equipment and ensure repair or replacement occurs in a reasonable time frame. Attend and participate in onboarding and annual training, in-services and team member meetings as requested. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the company. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Engagement Director, or Memory Care Director. SKILLS and
QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of experience working with individuals who have Alzheimer's disease and related dementia - Memory Care Only. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, related dementia-causing diseases, and disease progression - Memory Care Only. Ability to facilitate dignified, purposeful, and individualized programming to meet the needs of residents, family, and team members. Effectively communicate with and engage individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia in a manner that promotes their success and quality of life. Computer skills. Must have a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Vision Acuity, Talking, and Hearing. The weight determined to be appropriate for an Engagement Coordinator to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 25 lbs.
EXPOSURE RISK CLASSIFICATION
May perform unplanned tasks involving exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue which may contain AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses.
