WHO WE ARE
The Smarter Service enables active aging residential communities (aged 55+) and independent / assisted living to meet the technology needs of their residents by providing virtual and onsite technology training and support to older adults for technology they have, or need to adopt within their communities. We provide a personalized, human-centered service that provides 1:1, small group and community-wide interactive events, and easy "How to Guides" which enable older adults to extend their sense of independence in an increasingly digital world that is forcing technology adoption and usage at a rapid rate (from eCommerce to banking, healthcare, and social media). With our patient team of Tech Concierges, The Smarter Service provides ongoing technology training and support services (virtual and in-home) that help older adults navigate technology with confidence, improve the quality of their life, and helps them adapt and utilize technology to stay connected to friends, family and those that care for them.
JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Technology Concierge who can work with older adults (55+) and make technology more approachable and fun. A natural teacher, connector & trainer, the right candidate thrives on building one-on-one relationships and helping people use their technology confidently. You get energy from helping someone learn new things & build confidence. You are a natural at building tech confidence and love to celebrate individual successes. You will support our residents both on-site and virtually. Our residents don't know what they don't know, so your job is to help support them, teach them how to use tech if they are experiencing issues and support them through their technology journey.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Become a part of the community and meet resident needs for technology support & learning Create a local culture of tech confidence through patient, kind support and encourage fun with residents and staff. Maintain a database of engagement activity with residents and submit call reports Create "cheat sheets" as needed to help the community and residents with a step by step guide on common tech problems. Help with simple fixes or uses on resident devices (e.g. download an app, sending a text, sharing pictures, etc) Train and teach residents how to use devices, such as how to access an app or how to use a service online if requested. Research and find tech solutions to help residents leverage their devices. Ask effective questions and be an active listener, to identify personal needs and/or challenges and match your solutions with simple, easy to follow fixes and/or advice with the goal of leveraging tech to make things easier or safer. Prioritize patience and kindness when working with our audience, and support them to navigate all things tech Conduct training workshops twice a month based on common community demands Provide onsite and virtual technology support to residents of the communities we service Participate in sales development, earning new members through local engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of customer-facing experience in retail or services industry Familiar with technology and a passion for staying on top of what's available in products & services High School Diploma or equivalent College or working toward a degree preferred Extremely strong interpersonal communication - written, verbal, and on camera Must be results and detail-oriented High level of initiative and self-motivation with a continued drive to learn A clear communicator - able to communicate complex ideas in simple, relatable terms Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work on time This position will work one day a week, Background check, including fingerprinting, required
