Student Employment Work Location Lexington, KY On Campus/Off Campus Off Campus Salary Range $15+ Type of Position Student Position Time Status Part-Time Preferred Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work in reception or customer service preferred. Hours per Week 20-40 Willingness to work varied hours, evening, weekend and holidays as scheduled. Job Summary You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. Responsible for providing assistance to the Executive Director, Business Office Manager, Health Services Director and Resident Experience Director, as well as answering phones and assisting residents, family members and potential clients as needed.Essential Job Functions:
Answering the phones and referring to the appropriate department or person. Greet residents, families, guests, and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Communicate effectively between departments for special events, vendors, guest meals, visitors, outside providers, and inquiries. General office duties including typing, filing, distribution of mail and other duties as assigned. Guide tours, fill out inquiry forms and introduce prospective residents to the appropriate manager on duty, if needed. Follow Marketing guidelines for phone inquiries and guided tours. Accept rental payments and issue receipt if requested. The job description provides a framework for the job; other duties may be assigned as necessary.Skills / Knowledge
/ Abilities A desire and willingness to learn new systems. Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job and communicate effectively through written information. Must possess strong organizational skills, and be detail oriented, but flexible in order to accommodate the fluctuating needs of the Community. Knowledgeable on the computer and able to operate Microsoft Office. Ability to represent the Community in a positive and professional manner. Must be able to work effectively in an individual or team setting. Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
