Job Description

Role Overview:
The Medical Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and high-quality patient experience by combining administrative, clerical, and clinical duties.
Responsibilities:
Conduct patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance, collect payments, schedule appointments, and maintain electronic medical records (EMR). Assist providers by collecting patient information, supporting examinations, preparing exam rooms, and handling lab specimens and medications. Support post-discharge follow-ups and ensure patient safety by communicating risks.
Qualifications & Skills:
Requires a specialized diploma or completion of a Medical Assistant course, with proficiency in EMR systems, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication. Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and basic patient care is essential. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days.
Preferred Qualifications:
An associate's degree in a Medical Assistant program and at least one year of healthcare customer service experience. Certifications such as CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, RMA, or NRCMA are advantageous.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 25 lbs., perform activities like kneeling or bending, and possibly CPR. Emphasizes adaptability and professionalism in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
