WARM Center, Inc. Who is WARM Center, Inc.? Founded in 1987 on the values of Compassion, Hope and Dignity, WARM Center, Inc. provides a continuum of seventeen programs serving over 4,000 low-income households a year. Our programs provide essential support and resources to low-income individuals and families at risk of becoming homeless or experiencing homelessness. Ranging from street outreach to permanent housing, our programs share the primary goal of preventing and ending homelessness, and promoting economic stability across Washington County.

Shelter Relief Staff Reports To:
Shelter Manager Job Summary:
Shelter Relief Staff are responsible for providing on-site support to shelter guests and overseeing the facility. They assist guests with daily living tasks, offer emotional support, and ensure the shelter operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Support:
Assist guests with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene, laundry, and meal preparation.
Emotional Support:
Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to guests.
Facility Oversight:
Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and security of the shelter.
Intake Process:
Assist with the intake process for new guests, including conducting interviews and assessments.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of guest's information and progress.
Coordination:
Work with volunteers and other staff members to ensure seamless operations.
Resource Referral:
Refer guests to other services as needed, such as job training, counseling, or medical treatment.
Activity Facilitation:
Facilitate and supervise daily activities, such as support groups and recreational activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in social services or related field preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong commitment to social service, ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
Work Environment:
Schedule:
Primarily evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role is crucial in helping guests transition from homelessness to stable housing and providing a safe and supportive environment
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
