The Role As the Communications Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in presenting Achieve to the community and ensuring our communications reflect a deep, people-first respect for the individuals we serve, while keeping our internal business operations organized and professional.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute letters, memos, marketing materials, social media posts, and newsletters. Work directly with social media. Interface with clients, caregivers, customers, and the public to promote positive visibility. Coordinate travel, community engagement outings, and onsite activities/special events for our clients. Assist with basic office computer hardware and interface with our external IT vendor when necessary. Provide administrative assistance to the Executive Director, Director of Operations, and Director of Day Support. What You Bring (Requirements): Social media fluency and strong basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar). Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with our clients, families, and team members. A deeply rooted people-first mindset with an innate understanding of disability advocacy and respectful, inclusive communication. A corporate-minded approach to organization, deadlines, and multi-department coordination, bringing structure and energy to our local non-profit environment. Valid VA driver's license and clean driving record.
Experience:
Required:
High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience.
Preferred:
Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or experience working within human services / disability support environments.
