Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Welcome Desk Attendant serves as a friendly and welcoming first point of contact for members, visitors, program participants, and community members at the Community First Credit Union Community Center. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with basic questions and facility information, monitoring activity at the Welcome Desk, and helping create a safe, welcoming, and organized environment. The Welcome Desk Attendant will work closely with the Community Center Manager, Building Assistants, and volunteers and may assist with basic building tasks when desk traffic is light.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome Desk & Customer Service Greet members, visitors, and program participants in a friendly and professional manner. Staff the Welcome Desk and assist with check-in, basic questions, memberships, programs, rentals, and facility information. Answer and direct phone calls as appropriate. Refer questions or concerns requiring management assistance to the Community Center Manager. Facility & Administrative Support Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Welcome Desk and entrance. Monitor general activity and report safety, maintenance, or facility concerns to the Manager. Provide basic assistance to visitors using the Community Center spaces. Assist with simple administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. Teamwork Work cooperatively with the Manager, Building Assistants, volunteers, and other staff. Assist with light building tasks, programs, and events when Welcome Desk coverage allows. Follow established safety, opening, closing, and emergency procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Reliable and dependable. Friendly, professional, and respectful. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow directions and work independently. Comfortable interacting with people of different ages and backgrounds. Basic computer and technology skills. Ability to recognize when an issue should be referred to the Manager.
EXPERIENCE
No specific prior work experience is required. Previous customer service, recreation, school, volunteer, or community experience is helpful but not required. AGE High school students may be considered for this position, subject to applicable employment requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily indoors in a community center environment. Regular interaction with the public, including children, teens, adults, and older adults. May occasionally encounter moderate noise levels. May occassionally assist with events or programs outside of regularly scheduled desk duties. Schedule will primarly include weekday afternoon/evening hours and Saturday mornings, with additional shifts as needed. Must be comfortable working independently during portions of a shift while knowing when to seek assistance from the Manager.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to move throughout the Community Center as needed. Ability to occasionally lift and carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, and perform occasional light physical tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour Application Question(s): Are you at least 16 years old? What days and times are you generally available to work?
