Job Description
As a Prep Cook your responsibilities would include: Reading a prep sheet Keeping the walk-in refrigerator clean and organized Following storage and rotation procedures Maintains proper safety and sanitation practices Exhibits teamwork Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and safety standards Assist in assembling dishes on the line during service, ensuring timely and accurate presentation Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently Follow established recipes precisely to maintain consistency and quality across all menu items Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment by adhering to sanitation procedures Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth service flow Requirements Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling techniques Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation Ability to follow detailed recipes and adhere to portion control guidelines Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and responsibly Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced setting Apply online or in person. 1901 28th Ave S Birmingham, AL 35209
