Key Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs and preferences of children, adhering to USDA Food Program guidelines. pr.cf.edu

Menu Planning:

Develop weekly menus in collaboration with the administration team, ensuring they reflect all DPI requirements and receive necessary approvals. smallworldinc.org

Kitchen Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of appliances, washing and sanitizing dishes, and ensuring all food storage areas are properly managed.

Inventory Management:

Keep an accurate inventory of supplies, prepare weekly shopping lists, and make purchases as needed to support approved menus. tsc.edu

Compliance and Record-Keeping:

Ensure all meals meet nutritional standards and maintain daily production reports in compliance with local and state requirements. smallworldinc.org

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation, serve meals to each classroom on time at the appropriate temperature, and assist in serving children during mealtime. smallworldinc.org

Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven experience in meal preparation, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.

Knowledge:

Deep understanding of nutrition and food safety standards, with the ability to follow and adapt recipes to meet dietary restrictions or preferences.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to multitask between food duties and administrative responsibilities.

Attitude:

Positive demeanor with the ability to work well within a team and a commitment to the well-being of children.

Requirements:
