Meal Preparation:
Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs and preferences of children, adhering to USDA Food Program guidelines. pr.cf.eduMenu Planning:
Develop weekly menus in collaboration with the administration team, ensuring they reflect all DPI requirements and receive necessary approvals. smallworldinc.orgKitchen Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of appliances, washing and sanitizing dishes, and ensuring all food storage areas are properly managed.Inventory Management:
Keep an accurate inventory of supplies, prepare weekly shopping lists, and make purchases as needed to support approved menus. tsc.eduCompliance and Record-Keeping:
Ensure all meals meet nutritional standards and maintain daily production reports in compliance with local and state requirements. smallworldinc.orgTeam Collaboration:
Work closely with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation, serve meals to each classroom on time at the appropriate temperature, and assist in serving children during mealtime. smallworldinc.orgQualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience in meal preparation, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.Knowledge:
Deep understanding of nutrition and food safety standards, with the ability to follow and adapt recipes to meet dietary restrictions or preferences.Skills:
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to multitask between food duties and administrative responsibilities.Attitude:
Positive demeanor with the ability to work well within a team and a commitment to the well-being of children.Requirements:
