Job Description
LINE COOK P.S.
Taco Company | Dothan, Alabama P.S. Taco Company is looking for a dependable, hardworking Line Cook to join our kitchen team! The Line Cook prepares menu items accurately, efficiently, and consistently while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and following recipes, procedures, and food safety standards. Dishwashing and food preparation are always part of this position, along with cooking and other kitchen responsibilities. This is a fast-paced, part-time position with daytime, evening, and weekend shifts available. What You'll Do- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, tickets, portion standards, and company procedures
- Complete daily food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, labeling, storing, and organizing ingredients
- Set up, stock, maintain, and close an assigned station
- Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, equipment, and other kitchen items throughout the shift
- Keep dishwashing areas, workstations, equipment, utensils, and kitchen areas clean and organized
- Maintain consistent food quality, timing, temperature, flavor, and presentation
- Safely operate grills, fryers, flat tops, ovens, knives, dishwashing equipment, and other kitchen equipment
- Follow proper food handling, cooking, holding, cooling, labeling, storage, dishwashing, and sanitation procedures
- Monitor food levels and communicate shortages, prep needs, product concerns, or equipment issues to management
- Assist with receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing food and supplies
- Support opening and closing duties, including kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, prep, restocking, and trash removal
- Support catering orders, food truck operations, festivals, and special events as needed
- Work cooperatively with cooks, dishwashers, cashiers, managers, and other team members
- Perform other kitchen and restaurant duties as assigned What We're Looking For
- Previous line cook, restaurant, kitchen, or food service experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to consistently perform cooking, food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and other kitchen duties
- Dependable, punctual, and available to work scheduled shifts consistently
- Able to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong attention to recipes, tickets, portioning, timing, quality, presentation, and food safety
- Clean, organized, team-oriented, and receptive to direction, coaching, and feedback
- Professional and respectful communication with management and coworkers
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, bend, reach, perform repetitive tasks, and work around heat, water, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment safely
- Reliable transportation and dependable availability Schedule & Availability This is a part-time to full-time position with daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
