Job Overview We are seeking a passionate, caring and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals that meet dietary guidelines and cater to diverse needs. Your expertise in food preparation and food safety will ensure a high standard of quality and safety in every dish served. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a caring environment where meal service is a cornerstone of well-being and community. A positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team with coworker's is a must. Duties Prep, prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, dietary restrictions, and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in menu planning by incorporating nutritious options that meet various dietary needs and preferences. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, poaching and braising appliances, knives, and food production tools. Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards by following sanitizing procedures, proper food handling practices, and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination. Support high-volume food production during peak meal times while maintaining attention to detail and presentation. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Assist with catering events or special meal requests, ensuring all food is prepared with care and precision. Experience Previous experience as a dietary aide or cook in a healthcare facility, restaurant, or catering environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in menu planning, recipe adherence, and food presentation within a high-volume setting. Strong knowledge of food safety management practices, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Skilled in operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness standards. Experience with diverse cooking techniques preferred. Familiarity with dietary department operations or the food industry is advantageous. Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
