POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for preparing meals according to facility menus and recipes, including for special diets and diet textures, while adhering to all food sanitation policies and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares meals adhering to all portion control policies and procedures. Supervises preparation of or prepares serving carts. Assures meals are appetizing, served attractively, and served punctually. Assures food is correctly stored, adhering to all related policies and procedures Displays tact and friendliness when dealing with resident's, families, and visitors. Assures kitchen cleaned after meals, including but not limited to pots and pans, all surfaces and floor. Serves as a role model for other employees by displaying responsible, cooperative, positive, attitude. Qualifications Must be able to obtain criminal history clearance. Must be at least 18 years old. Safe Serve Certification preferred. Healthcare environment experience preferred. Obtains food handlers permit upon hire. Obtains CPR/First Aid upon hire. Able to speak, read, write English. Maintains ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout vast majority of typical eight-hour workday.
