•SUNDAY. Full time Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped efficiently and in accordance with food safety standards. Duties Coordinate food preparation and meal service. Plan and initiate cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedule. Prepare, season, cook and serve meat, main dish, soup, vegetable, salad and dessert for assigned meal; ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards and recipes. Prepares an appropriate number of meals according to resident specific diet in the community. Prepare nutritional snacks for residents as directed by the supervisor. Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability. Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods through food preparation to ensure that established temperature goals are met prior to sending meals to cottages and maintained throughout meal service. Store leftovers; plan for use of leftover foods in accordance with sanitation regulations and leftover policy. Clean equipment and work areas as assigned by the supervisor. Assist with annual checklist inspection of department. Be knowledgeable of federal, state, and facility's rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Attends scheduled department staff meetings. Perform other department duties as assigned. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent, preferred. Preference is given to persons with education in quality cooking and therapeutic diets. Minimum six (6) months food service experience in a health care dietary setting is preferred. Have general knowledge of quality food preparation, portioning and services. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions, follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments. Food Handler's Card AZ Certified Food Manager Certificate 2 Step TB Test (can be done at community) Fingerprint Clearance card ServSafe Certificate Join our team as a Prep Cook and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences while honing your culinary skills!
