Job Description
Marriott is hiring a Main Kitchen Cook II to join our culinary team in a fast-paced hotel environment. In this role, you will prepare and cook high-quality dishes for restaurants, banquets, and room service while following Marriott recipes, portion standards, and safety guidelines. You'll set up and maintain stations, manage prep and inventory rotation, and ensure clean, organized workspaces. Working closely with chefs and fellow cooks, you will support consistent, timely service and an excellent guest experience, while growing your skills in a global hospitality brand committed to people-first culture and career development. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items to Marriott brand standards for quality, taste, and presentation Set up, stock, and maintain workstations, ensuring proper food storage and labeling Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines in a high-volume kitchen Collaborate with chefs and kitchen team to support banquets, room service, and restaurant operations Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and minimizing food waste Communicate effectively with front-of-house to ensure timely guest service Train and mentor junior cooks on recipes, techniques, and kitchen procedures Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspace, following closing and opening checklists Adapt to changing menus, guest volumes, and special events Support a culture of teamwork, respect, and service excellence in the kitchen Required Skills Line cooking Food preparation Knife skills Food safety and sanitation (HACCP, Serv Safe) Recipe and portion control Station setup and mise en place Time management in high-volume service Commercial kitchen equipment operation Inventory and stock rotation Team communication in kitchen environment
