Head Cook Elders Inn - 2.0 Alameda, CA Job Details Full-time $22.30 - $24.30 an hour 9 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Retirement plan Qualifications Kitchen health and safety standards Recipe adherence Food preparation for special diets Food service health code compliance Food service cleaning Food Safety Manager Certification Safety regulations Food safety sanitizing procedures Legal compliance Food preparation equipment operation Kitchen organization Full Job Description Elders Inn is looking for a Head Cook! $22.30-$24.30 per hour DOE The primary functions of the Head Cook are: Prepare, assemble, and serve meals for our assisted living residents in accordance with the Dietitian approved menus and prescribed Physician's dietary orders Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and storage environment Maintain food quality, portion control, and compliance with approved menus and physician's orders Plan and assist with special meals for holidays and events Ensure proper food storage and handling practices in compliance with State and Federal regulations Process new diet updates and maintain accurate resident records Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings Stock shelves with incoming supplies This is a full-time position, working on a rotating schedule of 4 days on, 2 days off Shift varies between Breakfast (6:00am-2:30pm) and Dinner (10:30am-7:00pm) Minimum qualifications are: 21+ years of age Ability to work effectively with all personality types Knowledge of kitchen machines and utensils Knowledge of sanitation and safety requirements in food preparation and serving Ability to cook, bake, and prepare food in large quantities Ability to follow menus including those with special diets Ability to follow written and oral directions Ability to lift 50 pounds Push/pull 75 pounds up to 100 feet Employment requirements include: Current CA Food Manager certification Fingerprint clearance from the FBI and Dept of Justice Physical TB test Routine COVID tests Benefits eligible!
