Line Cook Ember Restaurant Arroyo Grande, CA Job Details Full-time $20 - $26 an hour 9 days ago Benefits 401(k) matching Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Plating Kitchen stations Full Job Description We are looking for a dependable, experienced, and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team who can handle fast pace and high volume. We are a neighborhood restaurant known for seasonal ingredients, wood-fired cooking, and thoughtful, from-scratch food. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and wants to be part of a professional kitchen with high standards. Responsibilities Prepare and execute menu items accurately and consistently Set up and maintain a clean, organized station Follow recipes, portion standards, and plating specifications Work efficiently during high-volume dinner service Communicate clearly with chefs and other members of the kitchen team Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and safety procedures Assist with prep, cleaning, receiving, and other kitchen duties as needed What we're looking for Previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience required Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Ability to remain focused and organized during busy service Positive attitude and team-first mentality Willingness to learn and accept feedback Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Demonstrated culinary skills including knife techniques, slicing methods, and meal preparation expertise Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen team members Experience with wood-fired cooking, seasonal ingredients, or high-volume service is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a strong attitude and a genuine desire to improve.
