Job Description

Part-Time Cook Arvin Post Acute Pay Range:
$17.50-$18.00 per hour, based on experience Arvin Post Acute is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Cook to join our dietary team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while following resident dietary requirements, approved menus, and food-safety standards. Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals according to approved menus and portion guidelines Accurately prepare special and therapeutic diets Ensure food is presented in an appealing and timely manner Record food temperatures and maintain required documentation Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area Follow proper food-handling, storage, and infection-control procedures Assist with meal service and cleaning of equipment, work areas, and serving carts Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments Report resident dietary concerns to the appropriate supervisor Follow all facility policies and state and federal regulations Qualifications Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus Ability to prepare meals in large quantities Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special-diet instructions Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team Food handler certification as required Benefits Competitive pay Paid time off 401(k) Training and growth opportunities Supportive and team-oriented work environment
