Dietary Cook Setting:
Congregate Living Health Facility (CLHF)
Schedule:
Full-Time We are seeking a dependable and experienced Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team in a Congregate Living Health Facility (CLHF). Our residents have complex medical needs, so applicants must be comfortable preparing meals according to physician-ordered and therapeutic diets . Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed diet orders and facility menus. Follow therapeutic and medically ordered diets , including diabetic, renal, cardiac/low-sodium, fluid-restricted, high-protein/high-calorie, and other modified diets. Prepare appropriate texture-modified foods and thickened liquids as ordered. Accurately follow resident diet cards and dietary restrictions. Monitor portion sizes and meal accuracy before serving. Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, infection-control, and food-storage practices. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area. Communicate dietary concerns, poor intake, refusals, or resident changes to nursing staff. Complete required dietary logs and temperature documentation. Qualifications Previous experience with medical/therapeutic diets required. Previous experience in a CLHF, SNF, hospital, assisted living, or other healthcare setting strongly preferred. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and special diet preparation. Must be dependable, organized, and able to follow detailed diet orders. Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained as required. Current California CNA certification is a bonus and highly preferred, but not required. We are looking for someone who understands that dietary services in a medical facility involve more than preparing meals— accuracy with prescribed diets and resident safety are essential. Experience with medical diets is a MUST.
