As a Cook, you will play a pivotal role in creating a delightful culinary experience for our residents. Your culinary expertise, creativity, and dedication to quality will contribute to the overall satisfaction and well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:
Design and plan nutritious and well-balanced menus suitable for senior residents, considering their dietary needs and preferences. Prepare and cook meals according to recipes, ensuring high quality and presentation standards. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors. Innovate and create new dishes to provide variety and excitement for our residents. Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to ensure meals meet specific dietary restrictions, including low sodium, diabetic-friendly, and modified textures as required. Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Ensure proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items. Monitor and record food temperatures regularly.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook in a similar culinary environment, preferably within a senior living community or healthcare setting. Excellent culinary skills with the ability to create and prepare high-quality meals. Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen. Experience in volume-batch cooking. Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.
High School diploma or equivalent:
