Responsibilities Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and standards Assist with meal assembly and plating to ensure presentation quality Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks, including portioning and packaging Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations Handle food with care, following proper handling procedures to prevent contamination Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed Support catering events or special functions with timely food prep and setup Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are valued highly Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings demonstrates familiarity with kitchen operations Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices is essential Skills in menu planning, meal preparation, and culinary techniques are advantageous Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking methods support efficient food prep tasks Background in the food industry or catering environments helps ensure adaptability in a busy kitchen setting Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude are key to thriving in this role
