We are looking for someone who can prepare quality food consistently, work efficiently during busy periods, keep a clean and organized station, and follow food safety standards at all times. The ideal candidate should be punctual, responsible, able to work well with others, and willing to help maintain a clean and professional kitchen. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to Green River Cafe recipes and standards Ensure food is cooked properly, consistently, and presented correctly Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures Maintain a clean and organized cooking station throughout the shift Clean grills, cooking equipment, prep areas, floors, and surrounding kitchen areas as required Store and cover food properly before leaving Complete opening, prep, and closing duties as assigned Monitor food quality, temperatures, freshness, and portion sizes Communicate with servers, managers, and other kitchen staff to keep service running smoothly Restock ingredients and supplies as needed Report low inventory, broken equipment, leaks, temperature problems, or other kitchen concerns to management immediately Help reduce food waste and follow inventory-control procedures Follow all restaurant food safety and cleanliness standards Assist with additional kitchen duties when needed Requirements Previous cooking or restaurant kitchen experience preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices Strong knife and food-preparation skills Ability to follow recipes and instructions Dependable, punctual, and responsible Ability to work well as part of a team Willingness to clean and maintain the kitchen, not just cook Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal kitchen duties Availability for mornings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled shifts as needed What We're Looking ForGreen River Cafe is rebuilding and strengthening its kitchen team.
