Job Description

Capistrano Beach Care Center, a 93 bed skilled nursing facility, is looking for a part-time cook to join our team. The ideal candidate is able to multi-task and is detail oriented. Walk-ins welcome or apply online.

CAPISTRANO BEACH CARE CENTER
is 93 bed skilled nursing facility who is seeking a dependable and compassionate Cook to join our dietary team in providing high-quality meals for residents in our skilled nursing facility. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, resident dietary requirements, and standardized recipes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience cooking in a healthcare, long-term care, or institutional kitchen setting strongly preferred. Knowledge of modified diets and safe food handling practices. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain (preferred or required based on state/local regulations). Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Ensure food is prepared and served on time and at the appropriate temperature. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including all food preparation and storage areas. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines. Assist in receiving, rotating, and storing food and supplies. Work collaboratively with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal service. Adapt recipes or food preparation as needed for special diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, puree). Communicate effectively with team members, nursing staff, and residents when necessary.
Pay:
From $23.00 per hour
