  • PM Shift Needed (included in Kitchen Tip Pool) Leucadia Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant is hiring an experienced Line Cook for evening shifts.
This position primarily supports our pasta and sauté station and will be cross-trained in other kitchen areas, including salad preparation, pizza production, and pizza cutting.

About the
Role:
The Cook is a Back of House team member responsible for preparing high-quality menu items according to established recipes, portions, presentation standards, and food safety requirements. Cooks help maintain an efficient, organized, clean, and well-stocked kitchen while working closely with other kitchen employees, Front of House team members, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Recipe and Quality Standards
  • Prepare all menu items according to company recipes, specifications, portions, cooking procedures, and quality standards. Order Accuracy
  • Review guest orders carefully and follow modifications, substitutions, allergy notices, and special instructions accurately. Food Preparation and Production
  • Complete assigned preparation and production duties before and during service to keep stations ready and support timely order completion. Inventory and Stocking
  • Monitor station inventory, restock ingredients and supplies, notify management of low or unavailable products, and help prevent shortages during service. Food Storage and Waste Control
  • Properly label, date, rotate, cool, store, and discard food products. Maintain appropriate portions and help minimize unnecessary food waste. Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Follow all food safety, allergen, cross-contamination, handwashing, sanitation, temperature-control, and workplace safety procedures. Cleaning and Organization
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, tools, work surfaces, shelving, floors, storage areas, and kitchen spaces throughout the shift. Dish Pit Support
  • Assist with washing dishes, cookware, utensils, food containers, and kitchen equipment as needed to support restaurant operations. Equipment Operation
  • Safely operate knives, ovens, stovetops, fryers, slicers, mixers, and other kitchen equipment after receiving proper training and authorization. Kitchen Communication
  • Communicate clearly with cooks, servers, counter employees, delivery employees, dishwashers, and management regarding order timing, modifications, product needs, and operational concerns. Teamwork and Station Support
  • Work cooperatively with the kitchen team and assist other stations when needed and appropriately trained. High-Volume Service
  • Work efficiently and with urgency during busy periods while maintaining food quality, safety, cleanliness, and order accuracy. Takeout, Delivery, and Catering Support
  • Assist with the preparation, packaging, organization, and completion of takeout, delivery, catering, and large-volume orders. Receiving and Storage
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, organizing, and storing food products, ingredients, and restaurant supplies. Opening, Closing, and Shift Duties
  • Complete assigned opening, shift-change, cleaning, restocking, and closing duties and checklists. Communication with Management
  • Promptly report out-of-stock products, supply needs, equipment problems, food-quality concerns, unsafe conditions, injuries, order issues, or other operational concerns to management. Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in deep cleaning, inventory organization, training, special projects, and other restaurant duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
Previous restaurant, kitchen, food preparation, pizza, line cook, or sauté experience required. Ability to follow recipes, portion requirements, preparation instructions, and food safety procedures. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, allergen, and cross-contamination procedures preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and order accuracy. Ability to work efficiently and with urgency in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ability to remain organized while managing multiple responsibilities and orders. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and reliable transportation. Ability to accept direction, coaching, feedback, and station assignments from management. Ability to maintain a professional and respectful attitude during busy or stressful periods. Willingness to assist with cleaning, restocking, dishwashing, and other kitchen responsibilities as needed. Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler Card. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements This position requires standing and walking for extended periods; bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and repetitive food-preparation tasks; working around hot equipment, sharp utensils, steam, and wet surfaces; and lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
