Freedom Village is proud to be a debt free Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and has been serving seniors in South Orange County, California since 1987. Our beautiful campus includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. We are currently accepting applications for a Production Cook Lead in our Kitchen! A Production Cook Lead oversees daily kitchen food preparation, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency while cooking, mentoring staff, managing inventory, and maintaining recipe standards. They often act as a working supervisor, handling complex cooking tasks, scheduling staff, and implementing safety procedures. Key duties include directing station setup, ordering, training staff, and maintaining cleanliness. Trains and guides staff on job duties, standard food safety and sanitation procedures, cooking methods, etc. Cooks and prepares food following production guidelines and standardized recipes Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment Ordering and maintain food production areas and storage. Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items Safely uses all food utensils including knives Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc. Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods Arranges, garnishes, and portions food following established guidelines Properly stores food by following food safety policies and procedures Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils Maintains excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
