Job Purpose The Prep Cook supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining organization and cleanliness, and ensuring stations are stocked and ready for service. This role plays a critical part in food quality, safety, and operational efficiency by providing the foundation for successful daily execution. Responsibilities Wash, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and prep lists Label, date, rotate, and store food following food safety standards Assist cooks with station setup and breakdown Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and batch recipes as directed Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, coolers, and storage spaces Follow sanitation and health department guidelines Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying product quality Notify supervisors of low inventory or product concerns Support special projects, catering, and banquet prep as needed Safely operate kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and food processors Dispose of waste properly and follow recycling protocols Maintain professional conduct and teamwork Qualifications Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required Basic knife skills and willingness to learn culinary techniques Understanding of food safety practices or ability to obtain certification Ability to follow recipes and written prep lists Reliable attendance and punctuality Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays Working Conditions Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold storage, sharp tools, noise, and commercial equipment Standing and walking for extended periods Lifting and carrying supplies up to 50 pounds Schedule includes weekends, holidays, and early morning shifts Repetitive motions and time-sensitive tasks American Golf Corporation is committed to equal employment opportunities for all.
