The ideal candidate will have a strong enthusiasm for food preparation, a solid understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role demands multitasking, following instructions, and taking directions well. We are looking for someone who is creative and can contribute new ideas for menu items.

Responsibilities:

Adhere to health and safety regulations. Maintains responsibility for overall assembly of patient trays and service to patients. Prepare meals according to recipes and customer specifications. Knowledge of modified diets to check accuracy of patient trays. Monitor food quality and presentation. Ensure proper food storage and rotation. Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Observes policies and procedures regarding personal hygiene, safety, and sanitation. Execute tasks for overall sanitation of the department according to a weekly schedule. Ensure meals are ready at specified times. Perform regular temperature checks of food before serving. Cover, label, and date food items before storage. Verify incoming merchandise against invoices. Store food items using the "First in, first out" system. Report shortages and malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor. Assist with deliveries, verification of items, and storage of products. Complete routine tasks within the specified shift. Adapt quickly to new conditions and procedures.

Experience:

1 year of experience as a cook (Hospital/Acute Care Preferred)

Certification/Education:
