Morning and daytime shifts; weekends required About R & R Breakfast Spot R & R Breakfast Spot is a family-owned Southern breakfast and lunch restaurant serving flavorful, made-to-order comfort food in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an experienced Line Cook who wants more than just another cooking position . This is an opportunity for someone who is ready to strengthen their leadership skills and potentially grow into a Kitchen Manager position . One of the best perks of working with us: we close at 3 PM! Restaurant life doesn't always have to mean working late nights. Our daytime operation gives our team the opportunity to work in the industry while still enjoying their evenings. Position Summary The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items according to R & R Breakfast Spot recipes, portion standards, cook times, and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will be strong on the line but also interested in learning the operational side of the kitchen, including inventory, prep management, food cost, waste control, training, food safety, ordering, and kitchen leadership . For the right person who demonstrates consistency, accountability, leadership, and a willingness to learn, there is an opportunity to develop into a Kitchen Manager role . Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and procedures. Maintain proper cook times, temperatures, portions, seasoning, and presentation. Set up and maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked station. Follow daily prep lists and communicate shortages before items run out. Properly label, date, rotate, thaw, store, and handle food. Follow FIFO procedures and all food-safety requirements. Maintain cleanliness throughout the shift and complete opening and closing duties. Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, food runners, servers, and management. Work efficiently during high-volume breakfast and brunch service. Minimize food waste and follow portion-control standards. Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing deliveries and inventory. Help train newer kitchen employees as leadership skills develop. Learn kitchen-management responsibilities such as inventory counts, ordering, prep planning, waste tracking, and shift leadership. Take ownership of the kitchen and help identify problems before they affect service. We're Looking for Someone Who Has previous line cook experience in a fast-paced restaurant. Is dependable, punctual, and ready to work. Understands that consistency is just as important as speed. Can follow recipes and established procedures without taking shortcuts. Keeps their station clean and organized throughout the shift. Communicates well and works as part of a team. Can accept coaching and feedback professionally. Is comfortable taking initiative and eventually helping lead others. Wants to learn more about restaurant operations and management. Is interested in growing with the company rather than simply working another line cook job . Is available to work weekends. Growth Opportunity We want to develop talent from within whenever possible.
