Overview:

The VA is seeking dependable Cook 2 staff to prepare meals for licensed care residents. This role is ideal for experienced cooks who enjoy leading food preparation and ensuring high-quality meals.

Requirements:

3 years of cooking experience in one of the following: Preparing meals for 250+ people with at least 6 months supervising kitchen staff , or Preparing complete meals for 50+ people per meal Short-order cooking does not qualify Trade school training may substitute : 1 month of school = 2 months of experience (up to 2 years)

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of meals using standardized recipes Ensure food quality, including taste, appearance, and portioning Follow menus for regular and therapeutic diets Lead and supervise kitchen staff as needed Handle food inventory, storage, and requisitioning Maintain clean and safe work areas, utensils, and equipment Assist with special events, recipe development, and meal planning Attend required meetings and training sessions Why Work at the
