$1,000 hiring bonus
Job Summary:
Chef will oversee kitchen operations, create an innovative menu, and prepare or coordinate the preparation of food ordered by patrons.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Primarily responsible for running the kitchen similar to that in a big home. 2. Cooks meals, taking into consideration dietary likes and requirements of the residents. 3. Oversees housekeepers and caregivers serving of food. 4. Oversee washing dishes. 5. Keeps kitchen clean and sanitary. 6. Keeps dining room clean and sanitary. 7. Orders food. 8. Minimum menu design because if preset, dietician approved, cycle menus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.
At least 18 years of age. 2. Six months of related experience. 3. Able to pass a physical exam and a criminal record review. 4. Current training in Basic First Aid and CPR 5. Current Food Handlers Card
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1.
Prolonged periods standing and preparing and cooking food. 2. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. 3. Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
SPECIAL SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE JOB 1.
Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for our residents. 2. Extremely creative. 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 4. Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills. 5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure.
LINES OF SUPERVISION 1. SUPERVISION GIVEN & TO WHOM A.
Delegates to the Dishwasher, authority: I. To keep cookware, serving ware, kitchen, and dining room clean and sanitary. B. Delegates to Housekeepers and Caregivers, authority: I. To consider resident tastes and medical conditions in serving food as fast as possible. C. Delegates to Dietary Aide I. To keep the dining room kitchen clean and organized. 2.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED & FROM WHOM A.
Delegated by the Administrator, authority: I. To oversee all dietary operations.
