This role is essential in ensuring ingredients, toppings, and components are prepped accurately and consistently to support our barista and kitchen teams. As a Prep Cook, you'll help maintain product quality, food safety standards, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. This is a paid, hands-on position ideal for individuals who enjoy food preparation, organization, and working behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Prepare daily ingredients, toppings, and components according to Summerfield Tea Bar recipes and prep guidelines (washing, chopping, slicing, measuring, batching) Assist with beverage and food prep including teas, syrups, jellies, toppings, and light kitchen items Ensure prep is completed accurately, labeled correctly, and stored following food safety and freshness standards Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, utensils, storage, and equipment at all times Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in compliance with health regulations Support inventory prep needs by communicating shortages or low stock to management Assist with special prep projects, seasonal menu launches, or increased prep during high-volume periods Work collaboratively with baristas, shift leads, and managers to support smooth daily operations Qualifications Previous experience in food prep, kitchen support, or food service preferred (but not required) Basic knife skills and comfort with repetitive prep tasks Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong organizational skills and ability to follow recipes and written prep instructions Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Positive attitude and willingness to support the team as needed Why Work at Summerfield Tea Bar?
