Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools. Follow food safety protocols diligently, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the food preparation process. Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences. Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of meals. Maintain proper food handling procedures, including storage, portioning, and labeling to prevent contamination. Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe guidelines and safety standards. Requirements Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills, slicing methods, and meal assembly. Experience with dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs. Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments. Prior experience in the food industry or catering is preferred; culinary training or certification is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
