Noren Izakaya - Hiring for a Highly Skilled and Dynamic Back of House Line Cook! We are a Japanese izakaya specializing in yakitori, small plates, and Japanese cuisine. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to restaurant recipes, portioning, presentation, and quality standards. 2. Set up, maintain, and properly break down assigned kitchen stations. 3. Complete food preparation and other assigned kitchen duties in a timely and organized manner. 4. Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, portioning, and timing. 5. Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, FIFO, temperature control, sanitation, and food-safety procedures. 6. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and kitchen environment. 7. Monitor preparation and inventory levels and communicate shortages or supply needs to the Chef/Kitchen Manager. 8. Minimize food waste and handle restaurant products and equipment responsibly. 9. Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and storing inventory and deliveries. 10. Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning responsibilities. 11. Work efficiently and maintain quality standards during high-volume service. 12. Communicate and cooperate with the Chef, management, and other team members. 13. Support other kitchen stations and restaurant operations when needed. 14. Follow restaurant policies, procedures, and reasonable instructions from management.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience preferred. 2. Japanese restaurant or izakaya experience is a plus, but not required. 3. Basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge. 4. Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices. 5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. 6. Willingness to learn multiple stations and develop additional kitchen skills. 7. Reliable, punctual, organized, responsible, and able to work as part of a team. 8. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required. 9. Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment. 10. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
