Sanger, CA Job Details Full-time $17.00 - $17.50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Line cook experience Assisting with ADLs Attention to detail Meal assistance Time management Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Head Cook to lead our kitchen and meal preparation while also providing caregiving support to residents as needed. The primary focus of this position is cooking, menu planning, kitchen organization, and food safety. The Head Cook will also assist with basic caregiving duties when needed to support the comfort and well-being of our residents. Key ResponsibilitiesKitchen & Food Service Duties — Primary Role Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that are nutritious, balanced, and appropriate for residents' dietary needs. Create and maintain weekly or monthly menus. Manage food ordering, inventory, and kitchen supplies. Maintain emergency food supplies and ensure they are properly stocked and up to date. Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and sanitation standards. Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature guidelines. Monitor food inventory, rotate stock, and minimize food waste. Coordinate and oversee daily meal preparation and kitchen operations. Assist with meal service and help provide a warm and welcoming dining experience. Maintain accurate kitchen and food-related records as required. Caregiving Support Duties — Secondary Role Assist residents with basic activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, mobility, and other basic needs, when needed. Provide companionship and friendly support to residents. Observe and report changes in a resident's condition to the appropriate staff. Assist with medication reminders as directed and within the scope of the position. Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents. Treat all residents with patience, dignity, and respect. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a cook, lead cook, head cook, or in a similar food service position preferred. Experience preparing meals for seniors or individuals with dietary restrictions is a plus. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, proper food storage, and kitchen organization. Ability to independently manage daily kitchen operations. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented. Comfortable performing basic caregiving duties when needed. Previous caregiving experience is preferred but not required. Compassionate and patient with a resident-focused attitude. Able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff.
