Position SummaryStefano's is looking for an experienced, dependable Closing Lead Cook to oversee our kitchen during evening dinner service. This is a hands-on cooking position with leadership responsibility. Consistent schedule with a minimum of 4 nights per week. (See planned schedule below).We're looking for someone reliable who wants a consistent schedule and a long-term position with our team.

The Closing Lead Cook will lead the kitchen during evening shifts, delegate work to cooks and sandwich makers, maintain food quality and ticket flow, and ensure cleaning and closing procedures are completed. Every dish that leaves our kitchen represents our commitment to quality, hospitality, and serving our community with excellence.

Core ResponsibilitiesPrepare and build menu items according to Stefano s recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.

Ensure all food is prepared safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.

Maintain proper food handling, storage, labeling, and rotation procedures (FIFO).Monitor food quality and immediately report any concerns with ingredients or equipment.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation throughout each shift.

Complete closing, and side work responsibilities as assigned.

Assist with food prep, portioning, stocking, and inventory management.

Follow all health department regulations and company food safety standards.

Work collaboratively with Front of House team members to ensure prompt and accurate service.

Communicate effectively with managers regarding inventory shortages, equipment issues, or operational concerns.

Safely operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, mixers, and other food preparation equipment.

Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented work environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
QualificationsExperience:
Prior restaurant cooking experience required; lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Food Handler Card required (or ability to obtain upon hire).Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds throughout an entire shift.

SkillsFood preparation and knife handling skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.

Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and standardized procedures consistently.
